Our JourneyHome 4: Keeping Traditions

Photobucket

A tradition is a ritual, belief or object passed down within a society, still maintained in the present, with origins in the past.[1][2] Common examples include holidays or impractical but socially meaningful clothes (like lawyer wigs or military officer spurs). Traditions can persist and evolve for thousands of years, and new traditions continue to appear today. While it is commonly assumed that traditions have ancient history, many traditions have been invented on purpose over short periods of time. Certain scholarly fields, such as anthropology and biology, have adapted the term "tradition," defining it more carefully than its conventional use in order to facilitate scholarly discourse.

And so this is Christmas...

It's all about traditions

Our Christmas traditions are not lavish. A potluck buffet table open for everyone to share. Gifts exchanged. There used to be Christmas Concerts.. but we're all grown-ups with families now so we don't do it anymore. (Although, I must admit that there's been talk of the younger ones taking the task on when they're a bit older.)

For now, it's centered around those who truly truly believe in the magic of December: the children.

It was the first time for these cousins to meet each other and it was fun to watch them as they celebrated Christmas together. There was initial shyness, and a few misunderstandings, but there were loads of bubbles and a number of slide rides - not to mention the gifts!

So, in the end, it was all alright.

My cousin, Grace (Noah's Mom), rocks as a mom! She's a pre-school teacher who's so in love with educating very young minds - especially her son's.

Oh my! Thanks for the special mention, Ate Chie! We all rock (you, Mai, and I) as mommies :D

Kuya Noah is always looking forward to have playmates over so do visit us again soon. (Sana nga ganun lang kalapit ang Indonesia. Pero di bale. It makes the visits all the more special!)
