Child Portraits | Tiara

She loves her Chipmunks. She loves her princess names. She loves her shade. No sun, please. She'll be as good as a princess and send you smiles as bright as sunbeams - as long as Mr Sun himself does not come for a visit nor a peek.

Photobucket

Such a little dynamite. All wit and sweetness. She's going to grow up to be someone, I tell you.

Photobucket

I truly enjoyed Tiara's photoshoot. Loved every second of conversing with this little sprite! And having her sweet parents - who are also photography enthusiasts - around made the morning all the more enjoyable!

Photobucket

Mrs Rance, Tiara's mom, wrote an entry on Tiara's experience as one of Moms Guide Indonesia Icon Search Top 10 Choice. Read all about it here.

Child Portraits | Hanami

Photobucket

Hanami reminds me of those beautiful porcelain dolls - but don't let her looks fool you, this little one is anything but fragile! She's such a willful little sweetheart who wants to get her way all the time! Truth is, though, when she looks at you with her pretty eyes, it is very easy to let her do as she pleases.

Photobucket

The camera loves her sweet face. (She reminds me of Snow White, do you see what I mean?)

Child Portraits | Alia

Photobucket

Alia is such an independent little girl who knows what she wants and asks for it. She looked through our box of toys and told us what she wanted to play with and did just that.

Photobucket

I love how she just let go and let play take over her.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I also love her beautiful eyes! It so reflects her love for life!

Child Portraits | Raisha

Photobucket

If eyes are truly the window to our souls, then Raisha's soul is simply filled with beauty! She is a lovely juxtaposition of edginess and softness: she shone with true grace and simply let her beautiful lashes go to work for her. She was low key and yet moved with full knowledge of what needed to be done.

And the colour pink? It just came to life on her!

Photobucket

(Raisha also happens to be the grand daughter of a wonderful woman I met last October for the Images for a Cure project. I'm not very surprised to meet her in an icon contest then - I see how grace and beauty and love flows through her veins.)

Child Portraits | Xakila

Photobucket

What do I say about this little one? That I admire her determination? That for a little, she knows more about commitment and passion than some other people I know?

Photobucket

That her smile is as sweet as sugar and that her eyes twinkle like stars during the day?

Photobucket

Can you see I'm smitten?

Child Portraits | Ellena

Photobucket

Ellena came in real quiet and very confident! Her quiet demeanor settled well on her young shoulders and her amiable soul was such a joy to work with! She is beauty and quiet strength.

Photobucket

Her take on the Funny Face Time was such a delightful surprise!

Photobucket

And her boots? LOVELY!

Child Portraits | Joyln

Photobucket

Joyln is all sweetness! Her smile is disarming, and the charm which radiates from her? Makes you think of sunshine-y days and beautiful gardens and cupcakes with friends.

She was such a trooper, too! Never mind the rain and the clouds, she just took it in and radiated warmth all around!

Photobucket

I love the way her eyes smile!

Child Portraits | Nayla

Photobucket

Nayla knew exactly what she wanted and she was not shy about it all. She wanted bubbles. She wanted the pink umbrella. She wanted to have fun!

She was the first stand in front of the lens and she had all the confidence in the world.

Photobucket

I loved her laughter and her infectious happiness!

Tea Sets and Girl Power: Where I've been these past few weeks. :)

Photobucket

I know I haven't been blogging for a while now. :) Been… (let's say it together shall we?) real busy. This photoshoot took a lot of my time - but this is not a complaint AT ALL. I loved every second of it: from planning it to shooting it to editing it and to watching it featured in a fashion show! Truly exciting to work with Moms Guide Indonesia and its two beautiful founders, Dian and Karmen.

Photobucket

I'll be sharing the Top 10's individual photos in the next few days but this one I can't help but share now. It's one of my favorites from the whole set. :)

Photobucket

Here's a sneak peek of the images from the shoot!  Love these sweethearts and very supportive moms and dads! :)

Family Portraits | Timothy

Photobucket

They came with smiles. They came with excitement. Most importantly, they came with love. Who can resist love?

Photobucket

It was present every second of the beautiful morning with this family. It was present through the battle against the heat (so sorry, Tim!).

It was present as we immediately moved locations to appease the overarm little boy.

Photobucket

Photobucket

And it shone through as we spent the rest of the morning in a beautiful restaurant who graciously allowed us our moments in love.

Photobucket

What is there not to love?

Here's a favorite picture:

Photobucket

Thank you, Lisha and Ade, for this beautiful gift!

How can you not love people who share their thoughts in such a sweet inspiring way! (Thank You, God, for sending me people who show me Your brand of Love: unconditional, inspiring, and robust!)

Giving back is always a good thing! (Part 2: Featured in Central Park's 360)

The IFAC project is a brainchild of Orlando based wedding and fashion photographer, Kristen Weaver. It is on its third year of raising funds for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) by inviting photographers from around the world to donate 100% of their session fees to BCRF for an allotted number of sessions or days.

Aside from donating the session fees to IFAC-BCRF, I also added the CSP Storybook and digital negatives to the Special Portrait Collection for additional donations to Yayasan Kanker Indonesia (YKI) or the Indonesian Cancer Foundation. I thought it was just right to raise awareness and funds for the local organization, too, as this country has been a second home to me for the past decade. It was such a pleasure to be able to share my time and talent for a cause near to my heart! (No pun intended.)

Photobucket

I scheduled a weekend for the cause and, with the help of Ms Ping - a kind heart and owner of Our Dressing Room (beautiful accessories!) - was filled with sign-ups for the event!

The Images for a Cure Special Portrait Sessions were held last November 12, 2011 at Central Park Mall, Jakarta, Indonesia. Six beautiful ladies and their families came over for the event and they were the fun-nest, sweetest and kindest souls I've had the honor of making images for!

Photobucket

Special thanks goes out to another group of beautiful ladies who were there to support the event through their unique talents! Lanny and Abigail, the make-up artists who came to my rescue in such a short notice, thank you for saying yes and for enticing their beautiful souls to emerge. Lala, overall support, thank you for being there and making sure things flowed nice and easy (6 portrait sessions in a day was not easy to manage and hold fort for!). Jai, our stylist, thank you for assisting our beautiful clients in deciding the look and feel of their sessions. Thank you also for reminding me to bring bubbles - they were such a success!

Photobucket

I can't wait for next year's Images for a Cure project! It will most probably be in Manila, Philippines, as my calendar says I'll be there by then. I am so looking forward to meeting the beautiful Filipina souls who will be part of IFAC - Philippines!

Story Book: Photography and its Journey in Art

Photobucket

Photography is a beautiful art as it involves the artist, the subject, and a myriad of other artisans in its artistic process. I like that it is as much as a lonely art as it is a social one. It is all about people working together to make something real good!

Photobucket

I'm an IFAC photographer and infused awareness into my community through a Special Portrait Session last November. It was an exciting event as families came to participate in the special session. We had a stylist and make-up artists volunteering their time and effort for the day. Here you find the photographer, a community of photographers and the photographer's community working together for one cause: breast cancer awareness. (Remember, people working together to make something real good? That's one right there.)

Photobucket

The art process did not end there, however. There was post-processing to be done, putting up galleries for viewing, choosing images for the collection - all done with the photographer and clients collaborating to choose images to keep, memories to store into pages and prints.

Photobucket

While this was going on, other people worked hard to make sure the images would be kept and presented in a beautiful story book of that day. They worked together with the photographer in making sure the keepsake was top-notch quality with all the prettiness it could take - and delivered within a tight schedule! I could have not asked for a better group than Susan Album to work with.

I loved the simple elegance of their products from first touch. Their pages had a simple organic feel to them that felt just right! And the people who manage the place? They're fantastic! They're patient, professional and was very accommodating. I can not have enough good words to say about them.

Photobucket

After weeks of emails and phone calls, my Story Books came and I was wowed.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I loved every single detail and am quite proud to have them in my collection!

Photobucket

Is this the end of the artistic process?  That's another good thing about photography, it's possible for the process never to end!  (Have I said how glad I am to have worked with Susan Album in making these precious pieces?  I am.)
