Child Portraits | Tiara

She loves her Chipmunks. She loves her princess names. She loves her shade. No sun, please. She'll be as good as a princess and send you smiles as bright as sunbeams - as long as Mr Sun himself does not come for a visit nor a peek.

Photobucket

Such a little dynamite. All wit and sweetness. She's going to grow up to be someone, I tell you.

Photobucket

I truly enjoyed Tiara's photoshoot. Loved every second of conversing with this little sprite! And having her sweet parents - who are also photography enthusiasts - around made the morning all the more enjoyable!

Mrs Rance, Tiara's mom, wrote an entry on Tiara's experience as one of Moms Guide Indonesia Icon Search Top 10 Choice. Read all about it here.

Child Portraits | Hanami

Photobucket

Hanami reminds me of those beautiful porcelain dolls - but don't let her looks fool you, this little one is anything but fragile! She's such a willful little sweetheart who wants to get her way all the time! Truth is, though, when she looks at you with her pretty eyes, it is very easy to let her do as she pleases.

Photobucket

The camera loves her sweet face. (She reminds me of Snow White, do you see what I mean?)

Portraits | A Mother's Day Portrait Session

Photobucket

A beautiful location and a beautiful person make for a beautiful portrait session. And who is more beautiful in a person's eyes than their own mother?

Photobucket

Even in ordinary walkabout clothes, my mom rocked her photoshoot!

Photobucket

Photobucket

She really loved the location because it was so much like the home she's been making for us since we were young: loads of wood, old school and warm.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I don't think anyone can go to Cafe Batavia in Jakarta and not fall in love with the place and the food.

Photobucket

I also don't think there's such a thing as an early Mother's Day. If everyday was Mother's Day, it still wouldn't be enough to celebrate the love our mothers give us.

Capturing Moments: 3 Quick Tips for Portrait Sessions | Aims

Photobucket

He came very reluctantly and started all shy. Took him about 5 minutes to warm up but once he did, we were on a roll!

Photobucket

I love this portrait session for many reasons but I've narrowed it down to three. And, coincidentally, these are the three top things I put in to most of my portrait sessions.

Quick Tip #1: Use what you have.

These are backyard shots. I love our backyard. This goes to show that any place is a good place with the right light.

Photobucket

Quick Tip #2: Short and sweet.

All these happened in 30 minutes.

Photobucket

Quick Tip #3: Bond with your subject.

These are all of one of the best birthday gifts I've ever received: my youngest brother. Isn't he the sweetest?

Photobucket

These 3 Quick Tips are not the end all of portraiture, but they work for me most of the time.  If you have a tip to share for portraiture, please share it in the comments section below so we can spread the information and enjoy prettier images all around. :)

Reading is for Everyone (Creatures big and small.)

Photobucket

Been a while since I last saw this furry face. I'm sure she's enjoying Bali. (The good life.)

Portraits | Heinrich . Sophie

Photobucket

They came in the afternoon with big smiles and enthusiasm! I'm so lucky to have real warm-hearted people to work with in this project!

Photobucket

Photobucket

It took some time for this tough cookie to break into real smiles… but he did. Isn't he sweet?

Photobucket

These two have such beautiful parents whose kindness and warmth shine through for all to see. I wish I could show you just how but, being real private people, they suggested I simply show it through their children.

Photobucket

Do you know tough love? *grin* I've seen these two almost everyday and this is what they have. Love in its rough and ready and bold state.

Photobucket

Thanks, Heinrich for your smiles (and for changing into your white shirt!)! Thanks, Sophie, for being patient with it all! :)

Portraits | Ping . Kissa

Photobucket

I'm very excited to blog about this special portrait session for this simple reason: this pretty lady you see here? She's got one big heart!

Photobucket

Ping found out about the Images for a Cure project and took it on as her own. She shared links with her friends, rounded up everyone interested, and made sure everything came out nice and rosy. The Foundations are lucky that she decided to come on board for this event!

Photobucket

Do you see her love for life? It's so clearly present in her smile!

Photobucket

And if the love of her children is any indication of her good heart… I'm telling you, she wins that one hands down! Her little daughter was all hugs and sweetness!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Oh, Kissa. You make hearts melt with your quiet little smile.

Photobucket

I love the fact that she was excited for the shoot! And, boy, did the camera love her!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Thank you, Ms Ping, for your generous heart and kindness. May you always be blessed!

Photobucket

And, Kissa, maybe next time your brothers can come along, too? *grin*

Portraits | Bhavna Rukmani Muskaan

Photobucket

I've known Bhavna and her children for some time now, and every single time I meet her I think these thoughts to myself: How lucky her children are!

Photobucket

She is such an inspiring mother who pushes her children to strive to become better people! Her quiet support is always evident in her children's life and so I was pretty stoked when I found out that she was supporting the IFAC event - with her daughter… and her mom!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Can you see all that love?

I know being a mom isn't all roses, but this? This is a lovely garden of love and affection!

Photobucket

Thank you, Bhavna, Mrs Rukmani and Muskaan for a fun morning in support of IFAC and YKI! Thank you for the quiet love you lent the exciting morning!
